Jason Kachadourian is an artist and object designer based in Brooklyn, NY. He is ultimately interested in the stories that objects carry, and the environment that they create when bonds are formed between them.
Portraits of Domestic Space is a series of panoramic gouache paintings of living spaces. The interiors are evocative of the inhabitants in their absence. Here, narratives are formed by the collective interaction of objects, depicting not just a living space but rather embodied spaces, where the objects that anchor us to the world become the subjects that tell our stories.
KACHADOURIAN is an ongoing series of design objects. The pieces in this collection refer to architecture, textile patterning and joinery techniques. Somewhere between fiction and function, this series is less concerned with the narratives behind each object, and rather focuses on how a particularly curated set of objects creates a particular energy within a moment of time.
